48V 22.5Ah Downtube E-Bike Battery – Lithium Battery Pack for Electric Bike Conversion Kits
The 48V 22.5Ah downtube battery offers an excellent balance of range and price, and is the right choice for riders who want more distance than a standard 17.5Ah battery gives, without moving up to a premium capacity. The 22.5Ah capacity (about 1080Wh) is available as an option on the MTX 500W, 1000W and 1500W kits.
The downtube design is made for mounting on the horizontal or diagonal tube of the frame, giving a compact, integrated look. The battery locks onto a mounting plate with a key lock system, which gives it extra protection against theft and stability during use.

Why the 13S configuration matters for daily use
The 13S configuration means 13 cells connected in series, each contributing about 3.6–4.2V to the total pack voltage. 48V is the most widespread standard for medium-power conversion kits, and the 22.5Ah capacity gives extra range over the standard 17.5Ah variants, ideal for riders with longer routes.
BMS and cell protection
The battery has a 30A BMS, in a 13S5P configuration with 4500mAh cells, which monitors in real time the voltage of each cell, the temperature and the operating current, preventing overcharge, excessive discharge and imbalance between cells. The casing is IP65 certified, protecting against light rain and splashes in normal use.

Mounting Steps
- Check that the Polly DP7 plate fits the width of your frame's diagonal tube.
- Slide the heavier battery (5–5.5 kg) onto the plate, supporting it until it locks fully
- Connect the XT60 connector, without bending the cable at the entry point
- Check all 4 level LEDs before the first longer ride
Maintenance
- At 22.5Ah, the battery tolerates longer routes without the need for repeated discharges below 20%
- For long-term storage, keep 40–60% capacity in a place protected from damp
- Because of the larger capacity, a full charge can take 5–7 hours — plan to charge overnight only with supervision
- Avoid thermal shocks — do not charge straight after exposure to frost or extreme heat
What you get on top of the 48V 17.5Ah
With 1080 Wh and an estimated 75–90 km, the 48V 22.5Ah gives about 25–30% more range than the 17.5Ah, at a slightly higher weight (5–5.5 kg). It is optional on the same kits.
