DUOTTS C29 Max 500W 48V 18Ah
Description
DUOTTS C29 Max – Urban E-Bike 500W with Hook-Type Torque Sensor and 18Ah Battery
The C29 Max is the most refined urban e-bike in the DUOTTS C29 family. Its 500W motor is paired with a hook-type torque sensor that measures pedalling force directly, delivering assist that is proportional and immediate. With a 48V 18Ah battery, hydraulic disc brakes and 29×2.1” wheels, the C29 Max offers the most natural riding experience in the urban lineup.
Most e-bikes use a cadence (speed) sensor that detects wheel rotation and activates the motor at a fixed output level. The C29 Max uses a hook-type torque sensor that reads the actual force applied to the pedals: pedal harder, get more assist; ease off, and the motor backs down. The result is a riding experience that feels like a natural extension of your own effort.

Hook-type torque sensor – what it changes about riding
On a cadence-sensor e-bike, the motor activates the moment the wheel turns and delivers a fixed output per assist level. This can feel jerky on starts and off-putting when you pedal lightly. On the C29 Max, the hook-type torque sensor reads pedal force in real time: a gentle pedal stroke gets gentle assist; pushing hard up a hill gets full 65N·m response. The transition from no assist to full assist is seamless and intuitive.
500W vs 750W – why the C29 Max uses a smaller motor
A torque sensor works best with a motor that responds proportionally across its full power range. A 500W motor with torque sensing delivers better linearity and smoother gradations of assist than a 750W motor tuned for cadence sensing. The C29 Max isn’t less powerful because it can’t go faster — it’s calibrated to feel more natural across all riding conditions.
Who Is the DUOTTS C29 Max For?
Cyclists Who Want Natural Assist
Torque sensing delivers assist proportional to effort — the closest a hub-motor e-bike gets to the feel of a mid-drive system.
Longer Urban Routes
The 18Ah battery extends range to 80–90km — more than the C29-L’s 15Ah — for riders with longer daily distances.
Fitness-Oriented Commuters
Torque sensing encourages actual pedalling effort rather than passive riding — you put in the work; the motor amplifies it.
