ONESPORT OT16-2 Max – Folding Electric Fat Bike with Aluminium Frame and Hydraulic Brakes

The OT16-2 Max takes the folding format of the OT16-2 and equips it for harder terrain: a 500W motor (45 N·m of torque), 20x4.0 inch fat tyres, hydraulic disc brakes and an aluminium frame lighter than steel. The 48V 18Ah battery gives around 80–90 km of assisted range, and top speed rises to 50 km/h.

Folding 500W Motor 48V 18Ah Fat 20×4.0” Hydraulic Brakes 80–90km

Compared with the standard OT16-2, the Max swaps the steel frame for aluminium (easier to handle when folding and carrying) and moves from cable brakes to hydraulic disc brakes — necessary given this model's higher power and speed. The 4 inch fat tyres absorb bumps and extend use beyond tarmac, onto park paths or dirt roads.

A folding fat bike – a rare combination of versatility and portability

Most electric fat bikes have a rigid frame, too large for car boots or small spaces. The OT16-2 Max solves that trade-off: it keeps the advantages of 4 inch fat tyres (grip, comfort, capability on varied terrain) in a package that folds for transport and storage.

Why hydraulic brakes on this model and not on the standard OT16-2

At 500W and a 50 km/h top speed, the braking force required rises significantly compared with the OT16-2 (250W, 25 km/h). Hydraulic disc brakes give constant, predictable force, essential for stopping safely at higher speeds or on surfaces with less grip.

Note: 50 km/h is the mechanical top speed once the limiter is unlocked. In standard use on public roads, the bike is electronically limited to 25 km/h in line with EU legislation.

Who the ONESPORT OT16-2 Max Is For

Mixed City and Countryside Adventures

Fat tyres for park paths, dirt roads or the beach, combined with a folding format for easy transport.

Commuters Who Want More Power

500W and 45 N·m of torque for better climbing and acceleration than the standard OT16-2.

Compact Car Owners

Folds small enough for a boot while keeping 4 inch fat tyres.

Frequently Asked Questions about the ONESPORT OT16-2 Max

What is the main difference from the standard OT16-2?
The OT16-2 Max has a more powerful motor (500W vs 250W), 4.0 inch fat tyres (vs 3.0 inch), hydraulic brakes (vs cable) and an aluminium frame (vs steel). In short, the Max is the version for mixed terrain and higher speed, while the standard model is aimed at urban tarmac.
Do the 4 inch fat tyres make folding harder?
Not significantly. The folding mechanism is the same, and the folded size grows slightly against the OT16-2 because of the tyre width, but the bike still fits the boots of most compact cars.
What tyre pressure should I run on tarmac versus rough ground?
For tarmac, higher pressure (2.5–3 bar) reduces rolling resistance and increases range. For rough ground or sand, lower pressure (1–1.5 bar) increases the contact patch and grip.
How much heavier is it than the OT16-2, given aluminium versus steel?
Although aluminium is lighter by volume than steel, the larger battery (18Ah vs 17Ah), the more powerful motor and the wider fat tyres offset the frame's weight saving, giving a similar or slightly higher total weight.
