Description

eBike Controller 36V–48V 26A – Sine Wave with Self-Learning for 500W–1000W Brushless Motors

Intelligent sine wave controller with 12 MOSFETs, 36V/48V compatibility and 26A maximum current, designed for 500W–1000W brushless gearless motors. Delivers smooth start-up, reduced noise, regenerative braking and 3 operating modes — the ideal solution for upgrading or replacing controllers on mid-power conversion kits.

36V / 48V 26A Max 12 MOSFETs Sine Wave Hall + Non-Hall IP65

The 26A controller sits at the optimal point in the All4eBikes range for 500W and 1000W kits: enough current for firm torque and fast acceleration, compact enough for standard frame mounting without an additional heatsink. Sine wave technology generates a continuous sinusoidal signal to the motor, eliminating the vibration and noise typical of square wave controllers at the same power levels.

Why 12 MOSFETs at 26A — the optimal power-to-size ratio

At 26A maximum current, the 12-MOSFET configuration delivers the optimal balance between current capacity, passive thermal dissipation and casing dimensions. Each MOSFET handles approximately 2.2A, keeping operating temperature lower and extending component lifespan compared to more heavily loaded configurations. The black anodised aluminium casing acts as a passive heatsink — no fan, no moving parts.

Regenerative braking at 36V and 48V

The controller supports regenerative braking at both compatible voltages (36V and 48V), configurable in 4 levels from the display: off, weak, standard, strong. On urban routes with frequent braking or routes with long descents, regenerative braking can extend battery range by 5–12% per charge cycle.

Phase self-learning — error-free installation

The self-learning procedure identifies the correct motor phase wire order in 30 seconds, completely eliminating the risk of incorrect wiring. Without self-learning, there are 6 possible phase combinations — self-learning tests them automatically and permanently stores the correct one.

Recommendation: this controller is optimised for 36V and 48V with 500W–1000W motors. For 1000W kits at 52V or above, or for power exceeding 1000W, choose the 35A or 45A controller from our range.

Which Kits It's Recommended For

500W MTX Kit

A sine wave upgrade with regenerative braking for the 500W MTX kit — a direct replacement at 48V, with 4A more headroom than the standard 22A controller.

1000W MTX Kit

A 36V option for the 1000W MTX kit on 36V battery systems, or a more compact replacement compared to the standard 25A controller at 48V.

Custom DIY Builds 36V–48V

Ideal for DIY projects or upgrades with 500W–1000W hub motors at 36V or 48V where sine wave and regenerative braking are needed in a compact format.

Recommended Batteries

At 26A maximum current, the battery must have a BMS rated for at least 25A continuous discharge. Our recommendations:

36V 20.5Ah Downtube Battery

The extended-range option for 36V systems — 30A BMS, ~738Wh, mounted on the down tube. View the 36V 20.5Ah battery.

48V 17.5Ah Downtube Battery

The compact and balanced option for 48V systems — 35A BMS, 50–80 km range. View the 48V 17.5Ah battery.

Important: the controller's 26A maximum current must stay within the BMS discharge limit of the battery. Always verify compatibility before ordering.

Installation and Wiring

Installation Steps

  • Connect the motor phase wires (3 wires) to the controller outputs
  • Connect the Hall sensor connectors from the motor
  • Connect the battery — observe polarity
  • Connect the display, throttle, PAS sensor and brake sensors
  • Run the self-learning procedure with the wheel lifted before first use

Safety and Maintenance

  • Do not cover the casing — passive thermal dissipation requires airflow
  • Periodically check phase connector tightness
  • Never exceed the BMS discharge limit of the associated battery
  • Operating temperature: −40°C to +80°C

Frequently Asked Questions About the 26A eBike Controller

What is the difference between the 26A and the 35A controller?
The 26A controller with 12 MOSFETs is optimised for 36V/48V and 500W–1000W motors, in a more compact format with better thermal dissipation per MOSFET. The 35A controller with 15 MOSFETs covers 36V/48V/52V and powers of 1000W–1500W. Choose 26A for 500W and 1000W kits at 36V or 48V, and 35A if you need 52V or sustained power above 1000W.
Can I use this controller with a 52V battery?
No — this controller is designed for 36V and 48V. Connecting a 52V battery can exceed the maximum voltage of the internal capacitors and cause irreversible damage. For 52V systems, choose the 35A or 45A controller from our range.
Does regenerative braking work without a display?
Regenerative braking is active by default at the standard level when no display is connected. The regeneration level can be set from the display in 4 steps. Without a display, the controller works normally with standard-level regeneration.
Is it compatible with the SW900 display included in All4eBikes kits?
Yes, the UART protocol of this controller is compatible with the SW900 display. Check the connector type (5 or 6 pin) for a direct fit with the kit wiring.
